I'm an Italian mother tongue and I received my degree in foreign languages and literature from the University of Siena, Italy, and my master's degree in tourism promotion and management from the University of Verona, Italy. Even if my first occupation is in the hospitality industry, I have held private lessons to teach English, German, and French and worked with several Italian language schools for American students, located in my hometown Siena, in order to help and assist students with their Italian conversational practice.
My approach is mostly based on a balance between a linguistic and cultural aspects, and this is what I like to transfer to my students, since part of studying a new language involves knowing what is behind that language.
Conversation is a very good and fun way to get into the language, starting from the vocabulary to the grammar, passing through the culture and the idioms. I provide materials for beginning to advanced learners, both for kids and adults.
I am currently one of the teacher of the Scuola Italiana in Portland, OR.
