FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wanted to build custom homes so I became a carpenter and learned how to from the ground up.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We recently replaced a foundation on a house flip in Portland. The homeowner noticed the floor was sloped about 4” from one side of the kitchen to the other. When we got under the floor we found that the house was held up by significantly insufficient framing including a small log one might toss in the fireplace (which our customer did consider once we pulled it out). We ended up needing to replace the foundation on one side of the house entirely and found some fun relics from the 1920s when the house was built. The replacement took a few weeks as additional repair work was discovered along the way. We had a great time with our homeowner who made great progress with the remodel in a short amount of time.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I think for the most part everyone wants to learn a little bit about what they can do to change or fix their home to improve their quality of life. Find a builder who prioritizes functionality and quality so you can enjoy your investment and have peace in the process.
