FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
When you compare pricing from one company or contractor to another, pay careful attention to the details. A clearly defined scope of work and bill of materials is your best defense against unethical practices (such as nickel&dime or bait and switch etc.) Having a well defined structure and framework allows you to determine who is offering the full scope of services required to complete your project; defining with what material they will use to complete it, and details like who's in charge of disposal of debris, or if a professional cleaning service going to finalize the project/build site. We find that when an 'apples to apples' comparison of services and costs is employed - nobody even comes close to the construction service product we offer.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once we both feel comfortable that Atkinson Construction and Remodeling is a good fit for your project and budget, the initial design phase will begin. Concurrently one of our project managers will be assigned to your project. Once we have a plan set that will satisfy permitting requirements your project manager will submit all necessary paperwork to begin that process. While we wait for permits (and wait ... and wait ... and wait) we will be finalizing your choices for your fixtures, finishes, colors, materials etc. - ordering each, so that when construction begins everything will be ready to go (either on site or at our warehouse). This helps us avoid any schedule busting materials/supply chain issues.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
