Hey! Alex here with Kush carpentry. We specialize in all aspects in home renovations. As a company that started with custom finish work we quickly expanded to full home remodels using our same attention to detail we had with finish carpentry. Alex was a pleasure to work with. He was exceptionally responsive and always got back to us within a short period of time - often minutes - which was very important to me. We had an unexpected delay with the project that threatened our deadline, but he got workers who were able to do the work to meet our deadline before Christmas and the influx of family. Alex and all his men were respectful, conscientious, and did the work with craftsmanship, which was particularly surprising, given the time pressures. I cannot recommend Alex highly enough. He is incredibly friendly and easy to work with as well as very hard working. I will have no hesitation hiring him for work again and have given his name to several friends.

Alex and his team do excellent work. The thing that sets him apart from everyone we've worked with historically is his excellent communication skills. He always responds quickly and thoroughly. I hired Kush to build a new bathroom and remove a chimney for 43k , and my experience has been disappointing and scary. Payment Issues: The first payment check was lost, which raised concerns about their organization and reliability from the start. He asked for multiple payments not according to the phases stated in the contract. Conflict of Interest: Alex provided three references, including the owner of Precision Air LLC, who he later recommended as a HVAC/water heater specialist. Precision Air LLC's quote to replace both the water heater and furnace came in at $12,000, while other contractors offered a $2,000 solution for a simple reroute. Disregard for Instructions and Poor Execution: Alex installed a towel hanger before the mirror, exactly what I asked him not to do. I provided a 3D model for the pantry, but it was built to the wrong dimensions. While corrections were made, these mistakes wasted time and energy. Other issues, like smart switches being installed upside down and an unpatched hole in the vinyl floor, remain unresolved. Unprofessional Behavior: During the installation of an above-toilet shelf, Alex drilled the wrong hole and blamed home owners for watching him. He became hot-tempered and even threatened not to patch the holes. While he later apologized and fixed, this behavior was unprofessional and made the experience uncomfortable. Contract Discrepancies: The contract stated, "Re-route current pipes to outside, wall vent," but months into the project, Alex claimed what was written in the contract was actually not up to code. This is something that should have been addressed before the project began, not after work was underway. Misleading Information and Escalated Costs: Alex insisted that rerouting pipes was impossible(or purposely not to recommend a cheaper route), but several other HVAC companies confirmed it was feasible. His misleading advice escalated the project from a $2,000 reroute to a $12,000 replacement of the water heater and furnace, causing a major financial burden. Here is the exact word from him: “It’s not my fault you didn’t have common sense about it. If that stack was going through the center of your damn house, you should have known that it can go up the side of it.” Ignore BBB complaint: I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The complaint is now closed without any of his response. Please double check with better business bureau for the record.
