FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing reflects my experience although I have come down significantly to stay competitive on this platform. My prices are negotiable, especially if paid in cash. I do not believe in hidden fees, so feel free to inquire about flat rates as well. I prefer to set a flat rate for a whole job as opposed to hourly rates which tend to hike up quickly. I have an incredible sound system but no lights or fog. This can be rented and added but is NOT something I've over invested in. I am a DJ and my focus remains on the music itself, that is the ambiance I create, and that is my specialty and what I pride myself on.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Most of my business comes from word of mouth. Many weddings I've DJ'd, either the bride/groom or someone in attendance has previously seen me do my thing. This is my first year opening up to the public. I really like thumbtack because I can publicly shop for clientele but with the narrowed search of filters. If we don't hit it off right away I'm probably not for you, and you not for me. We can be picky about each other. I like the concept of this approach a lot. I don't DJ Proms for instance because that is not my target demographic. Once the negotiations are behind us, I'll ask you a wide range of questions to get an idea of what kind of music you want, how many people, age diversity, and so on. Next is the fun part. Customizing your event. Our dialogue will continue until you are fully satisfied that I share your vision. The time, money for this preparation and my homework is all covered in the agreed upon flat fee. This is where I stand apart. I will fully engage in as much preparation as needed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Education was trial by fire. I have been doing this for almost 15 years. I've made every mistake imaginable learning this craft of mine. I am a fully seasoned DJ professional.
