FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Refresh Renovations is a complete design and build renovation service and has a proven process for taking customers from concept to completion. The Structured process ensures that projects are managed well, to avoid wasting time and money, which is common on many renovation projects. The first step in our process, the initial consultation, is for Refresh to understand exactly what you want to achieve in your home, what is important to you and why. We work with you to design and deliver the best renovation that you can achieve for the money you wish to spend. In the design and build process, your budget is just as important as your desired renovation outcomes. The next step is to translate your requirements into a renovation concept and investigate the feasibility of what you would like to build. We'll analyze your project to identify risks, constraints, and explore ideas. We will provide a budget range indication based on concept drawings, average costs and any other identified factors so you can stat making decisions on what your budget can include. The third phase of the process is to create a detailed project plan, working drawings (if required) and costing are then developed based on the approved concept. A detailed project cost and contract will be produced based on the specifications of your project taking into account the engineering, structural, design, and aesthetic decisions you have made, as well as building and resource permitting. If required, we can refine the cost with you at this stage by making modifications to the design. Next we move into the build stage where we manage and bring your project in on time and within budget. We will schedule and manage the trades, ensuring each trade has completed their work to the correct standard. The final stage is for Refresh to ensure that all required city and/or county documentation is completed and filed. We will work with you on the finishing touches until the project is complete. Congrats - your renovation is complete!!

- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have had several renovations done on my own homes over the years with varying levels of satisfaction. My last experience, a complete home remodel, was an absolute nightmare where timelines were completely ignored and the project went 50% over the initial budget! Based on this experience, I decided to look for a business in the remodel space that would allow me to help people with their renovations projects and make sure no one has to experience the terrible process that I went through.
