Hello, my name is Gib ----- and I am a U.S. Chess Federation certified coach. I offer online classes to those who want to learn or improve their game. After years of playing on the competitive chess circuit, I changed my focus. I wanted to ensure future generations could understand & love the game that has played such a significant role in my life. Since I was very young I've had a knack for chess and other board games. My diagnosis as being on the Autism spectrum confirmed that I had the perfect brain for this game & that this was the life for me. While I have coached people of all age and skill levels my primary focus has been working with young adults in middle school and high school. I also love working with senior citizens. I teach everything from basic movements and rules to advanced strategy. My coaching caters to the skill set of the student and adapts as the student advances. My love of the game and my love of introducing people to the game allows me to be patient, analytical, and fueled by joy.
