- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most custom cakes are based on wedding size servings. Buttercream frosted cakes start at $4.50 per serving; fondant covered cakes begin at $5.50. Cupcakes start at $3.00 each. Cookie pricing varies depending on size and complexity of design. Labor-intensive cake designs, specialty flavors, and gluten-free cakes have additional fees. Cake tastings for wedding cake require a fee that is put toward the cost of the final cake. A First Anniversary Cake is provided FREE (restrictions apply).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before a client commits to a contract, we have a discussion about the event, number of guests, theme, colors, and design for the cake. If booking a wedding cake, an in-office consultation is typically required. A tasting is optional for wedding cake. One-half (non-refundable) deposit and a contract is required for all orders at the time of booking in order to secure the date. Vendor will explain any additional fees or deposits for rental of equipment and delivery. Delivery is required for most tiered cakes.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been certified as an instructor for Wilton. I have taken courses with Wilton, community education, and Colette Peters. I keep current with trends by being enrolled on Bluprint for tutorials. My experience extends over 30 years.
