FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I look at a variety of factors in determining price. The type of tree, overall grind area including root system, height of existing stump and what the space will be used for after the job is completed. Some species of tree require a deeper grind and, or a more thorough grind of the root system to assure no regrowth or sprig growth in the yard. Sometimes a shallower grind is ideal as well based on various factors.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I provide free, no obligation estimates. I'll normally schedule a time to meet with the customer to assess the total job, discuss options and provide an estimate. Most of my customers prefer that the job be done sooner rather than later, so I will normally have a machine with me and do the job at that time should we agree on a price.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a retired insurance broker I stumbled into the tree business, providing estimates for a large, local tree company owned by a close personal friend. Over time I became more familiar with the industry in general as well as the stump grinding and removal side.
