FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically my prices are in tiers - $100 for a basic tax return for one person with W2 income, $200 if they have investments, itemized deductions, education credits or other specific situations. Self employed or small business returns (Schedule C, Schedule E, Schedule F, etc) start at $400, and if the small business is a corporation it may be higher. If I do the parents' returns, I will do their minor children's returns for free for the same year.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First to gather information about what type of tax return they need done, what price tier they fit into, and what information they will need to get to me. Once they provide the information, I will put the tax return together. Next I will send them any additional questions that have come up, and when that information is provided, I will update the return. Finally, I will go over the return with the customer so they can ask questions if needed, sign off on it, and send payment. I will efile the return and provide copies to the customer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS in Business Finance, a PTIN with the IRS, and I have been doing tax returns for 16 years.
