FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our assessments of Water and Mold Damage are Complimentary. Cost for Structural Drying and Water Mitigation are based on the pricing predetermined by the Insurance and Restoration Industries. The down payment is usually to cover your deductible. If your told the loss is not covered by insurance, it's not unusual for them to tell you NO when you first call. But no doesn't always mean no. It doesn't necessarily mean they'll change their mind either. Give SafeHouse a call and let's discuss your situation and have it professionally assessed and documented giving you the best shot for coverage. Mold Removal is a bit more difficult to calculate because the problem although caused by a water or moisture event is often microbial and at first detected in the air quality. Mold also hides behind baseboards, drywall, on the backside of ceiling tiles and or imbedded. Not only does a professional mold specialist need to find and then abate the mold which is visible they also need to take steps to contain what could potentially become aerosolized. Our job also included preventing it from spreading to unaffected areas of the home or building during removal. Spraying the area alone with a product that renders mold spores negligible, DOES NOT likely prevent it from spreading. Following the guidelines established by the EPA, ACGIH, and IICRC for "Mold Removal in Schools and Commercial Buildings" is the one way to assure yourself the project has been done correctly and completely. Also remember Basements require special steps due to most people's homes pulling air quality from their basement. Give SafeHouse Solutions a call today. We are happy to speak with you and address your questions.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A Phone consultation to understand your concerns and what likely produced the problem. Step Two is an on site visit with a Licensed Professional to Assess the Water and or Mold Damage using advanced technology while applying our experience and knowledge. Step Three is determined by what we can see, can't see and or smell. Lab Samples may be required to analyze the Indoor Air Quality or what appears on surfaces. When done this precedes Water Mitigation and Structural Drying to assure the Safety and Health of you and those you care for. Step 4 is presentation of the scope of work, estimate and if agreed; an implementation of treatment based on your needs. Step 5 is demonstration of the projects success.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our Licenses (CCMR, CCMR) in Assessment and Remediation require CEU's. Our CEU's at present are earned through the PMII. We are one of the original Indoor Environmental Air Quality Council Certified Mold Professionals by the State of FLA. Our pre-requisites included working with a CIH and Member of the ACGIH for several years prior to and during our Health Homes Grant.
