My husband and I started a moving company with our 4 sons. We started during the 2020 Pandemic because of the obvious reasons, we needed income because we both lost our jobs. Unaware of the pitfalls of starting a business, we decided to do it on our own. But after 6-months, it was not just the Pandemic that was limiting our revenue, but we were just going through the process of thinking that we knew what we were doing. That was not the case.
I was doing research online for freelance business consultants and came across Thumbtack. I put out a request and got 32 people that responded. My husband and I talked to six people and met with 8 others. We decided on one that we paid about $800 for him to work on a marketing campaign. After 2-months it was a disaster and just felt like a waste of money. Then we decided to try again with Thumbtack and eventually came to work with another consultant. His fee was about $2,000 and seemed knowledgeable about the industry and my husband was comfortable with the woman we decided to work with. Somehow, after we paid the deposit, we only heard from her once in 3-weeks, then she became too busy to work with us. This was another failure at having a consultant. Then...
We were about to give up, but my son (34YO) did his own research and found a referral for Maine Prince at Prince Management Group on Thumbtack. Jack talked to Maine on the phone for about 2-hours (paid $500), then he met with him in-person (paid $1,000), and eventually my son scheduled a dinner meeting with all of us with Maine Prince to discuss the family business. It was clear he was the one. In every sense that we needed and to really get the business up and running for the upcoming new year.
The retainer of $20,000 seemed like a lot for us, but it was well worth it. The value he provided was much about Peace-of-Mind as much as it was about helping us formulate a Business Plan he wrote for us, including a Feasibility Study, Financial Forecasting, Pro Forma, Break-Even Analysis, a Marketing Strategy, and also an Exit Strategy. We talked with Maine daily by phone - text - and email. He always responded promptly and his knowledge was always insightful. It really helped our family get more time together and just as important, Maine focused on guiding us to Generational Wealth. Because as a full-service agency, he handled the Business Management, but also Financial Advising and Wealth Management for the family.
In the first quarter, or 90-days in working with Maine Prince, we grossed 300% as projected. Then in the 2nd quarter of working together, we were already at $100k per month while increasing staffing, buying three more box trucks, and yet still averaging a ROI of 500% for our still small business of less than ten employees. We continue to work with Maine because along with business, he's been like family, well a better version of family, because he cares about his clients and he works diligently to achieve success with favorable results.

I sincerely appreciate Maine Prince punctuality with our schedule phone calls and video calls that we setup. Any time I emailed him or sent him text message his responsiveness was prompt and direct. I am an attorney that has had my law firm for 7 years and the expertise that Prince helped me with within 7-days helped me profit more than 800% within the month. To which the investment of $250 an hour for the first 40 hours was well worth the investment. Then our firm was able to taper down to 20-hours per month. Prince helped develop our new action plan and marketing and business development plan for this fourth quarter. As a small business owner, I was negligent in understanding the action plans needed to incorporate marketing into my time. I focused more on billable hours than marketing. And then I did focus on marketing, what I was doing was inefficient. Prince came up with a plan I could understand. The client appreciations worked for my existing clients and they for sure helped bring in triple the referrals that also netted extreme amount in profit ROI versus what I was doing earlier.

No matter the industry. It does take some finesse to running a business. Everyone knows there is no phrase called "Walking a Business"... it's called "Running a Business" meaning as a business owner, you must remember that even as a child, you must be able to hold your HEAD UP first as a baby, then you begin to sit up, then you begin to crawl, then you begin to walk, then at some point you learn to run. But all in all, it's parents helping along the way. As a business owner, it's the same process. It takes someone to be there as a guide to support you unconditionally along the way.
