- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All events come with DJ, a quality sound system, mic, consultation and online planning forms, travel, set up and tear down time included. We offer additional options so that we can make your event exactly how you want it to be. We service a wide area, so a small fee will be included within your quote calculated by the estimated miles we will travel to your event. PARTY DJ: Price for Party DJ includes all the standards listed above. You get to choose your favorite songs in advance using my Request System. WEDDING DJ/MC: Our couples get their own Online Client Area with tools to plan their ceremony and reception. You'll have access to our Music Request system to create playlists and explore our most requested music lists. You'll also have unlimited consultations in preparation for your event. In addition to the standard setup, weddings include a lit DJ booth and two lit towers plus two Mini-Kinta derby lights. Extras: Up-lighting - used to highlight architectural features, walls, ceiling, columns. Your Names in Light - Custom Single Color Monogram lighting Deluxe Monogram lighting - includes animation/background video Subwoofer pair for extra thump on the dancefloor. Dance floor lighting package Wireless lapel or headset mics Multiple sound systems Multiple Locations Atmospheric effects - Haze, Fog, Effect Lighting - Black Light, Laser, Starlight, Water Effects Moving head lighting - KARAOKE PRICING: I offer Fully Hosted karaoke, which includes the DJ/Host, plus the full sound system, music, songbook, wireless microphones, monitor(s), setup/teardown. Karaoke pricing for weekly shows at bars, restaurants or other venues will enjoy a substantial discount from standard karaoke shows when booking 4 or more shows in advance. SCHOOL DANCES: School dances require some of the extras listed above. These options will be required for an accurate quote: Subwoofers, Extra Dance Floor Lighting. We will create a carefully curated list of school-safe music(which can be submitted to Administration before the dance). REFUNDS: A non-refundable retainer is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to the event. If the event is rescheduled, retainer and payments to date will be applied to the new event date. If an event is cancelled, only the funds paid in excess of the retainer will be refunded. However, no amount is refundable for events cancelled 14 days or less before the event date.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a new customer contacts me, I like to respond to them right away. I use the messaging system here on Thumbtack. It helps us keep track of everything we've discussed so we can refer back at any time for answers to any questions. That gives us a chance to really understand each other and come up with the best options for their event. Most often, new customers use our online availability checker, quote generator and online booking system. Within minutes they can see if the date is available, create their own custom package, get an exact price and book the date conveniently online as well as pay using our secure payment portal. Working with us could not be more quick, convenient and safe.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 15+ years of hands-on experience as a Radio DJ, Recording Studio tech, Karaoke Host and DJ for weddings and parties. I'm very comfortable as MC. I've given over 6500 speeches, presentations and workshops over 3 continents and have been awarded the level of ATM-B and CL by Toastmasters(Public Speaking organization). I'm also an award-winning public speaker. You can be confident that your guests will feel comfortable and entertained when you choose me as your MC.
