I have had the pleasure of knowing Sean for two years now, since he was hired as the group guitar teacher for the children’s music program I lead. It was obvious right away that he would be the perfect fit. Students like and can relate to him, he is friendly and comes up with the best and most inspiring music arrangements for the students that they enjoy playing. He meets every student where they are at the moment musically and builds on it, thoughtfully and methodically. I have also had the pleasure of observing Sean teach private lessons, as my son’s guitar teacher. I saw huge improvements in my son’s confidence and musicality right away. Just under a year later, I understand various different scales (major, minor, and some modes) and when to use them. I also have a comfortable grasp of the different chords and chord shapes. I was planning to focus on just rock n roll but I've been introduced to a much broader array of music including funk, blues, jazz, reggae, and metal as well as different techniques used within each genre. Lessons have been great and have helped me learn not only what to play, but why I'm playing it too. I cannot say enough good things about Justin who has an answer to any question and an accessible teaching style (which is saying a lot when referring to guitar).
