My daughters just had their first “get acquainted” lesson with Amy. One can immediately tell that Amy has a lot of experience and knows how to teach vocal techniques in a clear, encouraging, professional manner. I also appreciated her quick responses to my emails. When I first started singing I was very much a wreck I was nervous and just overall terrified it took at least 2 lessons for Amy to bring me out of my music shell and honestly I owe my confidence when I perform to her. She doesn’t try to mold your voice she works with it through the awkward phases it might have, she’s always been there for me and has been a big help to my life as a singer. As for piano she took the time to start at square one and walk with me she has never gave me a piece of music to practice that I couldn’t handle and I’m so great full for her help and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

I have been Amy's student for eight (going on nine) years. During this time, she has taught me so much about the technique and artistry that go into vocal performance. I am also honored to call her not just my teacher, but my good friend. I took voice lessons from Amy for about 5 years. She greatly helped me in learning all the proper ways of breathing and all that goes into being a better singer. She also gave voice and piano lessons to 2 of my nieces and they loved Amy and looked forward to their lessons with her. She's very talented and uses her God given musical gifts to help others.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
With voice students, I like to know about any singing experience they have, such as choirs or musicals, etc. If they are in choir, I want to know what part they sing and if they can read music. With piano students, I want to know what type of instrument they have at home to practice on, and if anyone else in their family has any musical experience.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I belong to several groups of piano and voice teachers who share ideas and strategies as well as repertoire.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have a degree in Music Education as well as a degree in Psychology and accompanied another voice teacher's private students so I learned how to teach private students. I worked for another studio before I opened my own.
