FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer flexible pricing options based on your budget, and can work with you to find a lesson plan that is a right fit. I am also flexible regarding travel, as I can come to your home if you prefer!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each one of my students is totally unique. That is why I never use a "one size fits all approach" to my lessons. I tailor my lesson plans to address the student's overall skill level, strengths/weaknesses regarding technique, music theory, and musical comprehension, and finally, their long-term musical goals. I believe that teaching the music YOU love is the absolute best way to quickly get over that initial difficult learning curve that stops so many people from continuing to play. This is where so many traditional "Learning Guitar" books or YouTube videos fail. They teach the technique, chords, and basic music theory, but fail to engage the student's passion. If you are actually playing the music you're passionate about, you are much more likely to stick with it and continue to play. This is exactly what I offer to my students. I will tailor lessons to your musical passions and then teach the different musical concepts therein. It's kind of like reverse engineering! I set my students up with the best possible trajectory to allow them to enjoy the experience of being able to actually play guitar the way they want to. Make no mistake, doing lessons with me does not automatically mean you will be able to play the way you want to immediately. I expect my students to practice! However, that does not have to be a scary 8-letter word. I will let you know exactly what to practice every week so that you can improve incrementally. I always say that getting better happens in between the lessons, not during! I guarantee you that if you do lessons with me, and put in the work by practicing, you WILL be able to play the guitar the way you've always wanted to.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a professional musician for almost a decade playing guitar and bass in many different bands. Having played everything from gospel, to country, to rock and metal, I love all genres of music (well... most of them all...) and believe that every single one has valuable musical lessons to be learned within. In terms of teaching, I have a similar amount of experience teaching all ages and skill levels. At School of Rock Littleton, CO, I taught kids ranging in age from 5 to 17 years old for many years. Additionally, I have taught adults whose ages range even more widely! It does not matter how old you are, or your skill level, I can help you get to where you want to be.
