I am a patient instructor and strive to meet your individual dance needs. If you want to take ten lessons in tango or one in every dance, I want to accommodate to your dance needs. I teach individuals, couples, and kids in private and group class settings. I also help prepare a lot of wedding couples for the first dances and their wedding receptions.

Emily Mertens is outstanding. Her dedication, determination, and discipline at dance instruction is without question ... the best. She communicates very well, coordinates the lessons/practices at the highest level, and displays a level of caring to meet the students' expectation based on age and experience. I have been a student of Emily and Ballroom Dance Experience for nearly two years now. I started by taking group lessons through the Dublin Recreation Center, then began taking private lessons about 6 months later. Emily is an excellent instructor who brings a lot of enthusiasm and fun to her group classes as well as her private lessons. Emily's knowledge and passion for dance is passed on to each and every student she teaches. She does not only teach the steps, but also the technique and artistry of each dance. Emily adapts easily to the learning styles of her students and is flexible in her scheduling of lessons. Unlike many dance instructors/studios, Emily does not push her students to buy in to extra lessons and packages and she works hard to keep her costs affordable and reasonable in order to bring the joy of dancing to as many people as possible.

Initially I was very nervous to begin ballroom dance instruction but Emily has made it fun and easy to learn at my pace. Since I've had no prior exposure to dance, I really appreciate her patience and encouragement. Highly recommended!
