Introduction

We have a proven record of ACT results ranging from 3-9 point improvements. We have 20+ years of education experience teaching high school and college students, and our director, Dan, has PhD in education. His dissertation study proved the effectiveness of our ACT reading methods, and we have mastered every ACT section and how to teach it to all kinds of students. We know how to work with all kinds of students, from highly motivated Ivy League bound kids to low motivated students just trying to get their scores up. We am passionate about adolescents' learning and we are committed to their success!

Our son started working with Dan to prepare for his upcoming ACT. Dan had him do an initial test on his own at home before they started and he scored a 25. After meeting with Dan weekly from August-February, that score jumped to a 33! Dan made the test prep process manageable for our son. Dan figured out exactly what his strengths and weaknesses are and gave him tips/strategies to maximize his score. Dan is a great role model for young kids and knows just how to motivate them. I would recommend him to anyone committed to improving their scores.

I'm currently studying for the nursing entrance exam specifically the math and reading portion Dan has taught me how to look at the information in different ways, multiple ways of tackling the problems, and being confident . Dan worked with my son for about a year, prepping him for the ACT. My son immediately liked Dan. They met for an hour and a half a session, one time a week. Take home practice work was given to be completed before the next session. This was a huge help to my son. Dan would go over each problem with him so he could better understand why he missed something. The tools Dan gave my son to study with and to take the ACT with were very helpful...and it showed in his score. Dan helped my son improve his ACT score 5 points. The tools my son learned with Dan have helped him in his regular school work as well. I wish Dan were still in Nashville, because I would definitely send my daughter to him.

Dan was a tremendous resource for our daughter as she prepared for her ACT. His support, advice and guidance helped her stay grounded, his challenge was always appropriate, and his responsiveness and feedback throughout the process were incredibly helpful -- to both us as parents and to her. He is also very personable and easy to talk to for both student and parent. She raised her score 6 points, and we were grateful to have Dan walking alongside our daughter throughout the college testing process. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a free phone consultation for students and families to ensure we are a good fit, diagnostic tests to establish baselines and goals, and lesson-by-lesson feedback so parents can support their children’s dreams. References from former students are available upon request.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we meet to discuss goals, timeframes, and personal fit. Then, we schedule a diagnostic test (if the student has taken another recently, we can substitute that). I analyze the results from the diagnostic test and use that data to prioritize the greatest areas of need and the greatest opportunities for improvement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My degrees: PhD in Language, Literacy, and Culture -- Vanderbilt University Master's in Education - University of Notre Dame Bachelor's in English - University of Notre Dame My experience: Seven years as a private high school English teacher, Dean of Students, baseball coach, and drama director. Five years as university instructor/professor of education, training teachers for responsive literacy instruction. Three years working at Stoke Education, a collective of tutors in Nashville, TN, specializing in delivering superlative results to all kinds of students.
