Please allow me to introduce myself,PGA Professional,John Zupan!
I have been a golf professional for
45+ years and a member of the PGA of America.
Gaining my knowledge about golf from Golf Professionals: Jack Grout,Jack Nicklaus’s mentor and friend,Bob Toski,Gardner Dickenson, Phil Ritson and a host of other golf professionals.
I successfully competed on the Asian,Australian and South African golf tours.
Playing under tournament conditions I learned how to control my emotion’s and what pressure means. Instructing over 50k students, beginners to tour level players has given me a insight to how much practice it takes for a novice to score low and a professional to consistently break par. My personality? I have been classified as a self starter and recently started a junior golf program at MeadowoodGC called PGAJr League Golf. The first year we had close to70 children. This year a very different story,C-19. June 14th the Fall PGA Junior Golf program will start and run for (5) week’s,if you have or know a young person between (17)and (8) years old please forward this information to them. This year we have moved to Cherry Ridge golf course.
My Philosophy,Instruction should be helping the student with their swing, not trying to mold the students swing after a Tour Player’s but taking what they already have and improve it. Only certain gifted people with excellent eye hand coordination, physically fit and extremely flexible can hit a (6) iron over 200 yards. Developing a totally new swing, keeping everything very simple can sometimes take over a year even for a tour level golfer.
I use drills and by example to help a student improve their swing motion and technique. It’s your swing,we are going to keep it that way by just improving the week points.
You will be receiving Professional, expert advice for the
full swing, short game and putting to go along with any specialty shots around the green or off the fairway,Just ask!
Safety first and respect for the guidelines set, because of the C-19 virus, will be followed as close as possible.
Thank you and I hope to see you on the practice tee.
