Hello!
I’m Valentina, a professional flutist from Colombia based in Cincinnati, OH. I have a masters degree in flute performance from the University of Missouri and now I’m a doctorate student at CCM.
I have been teaching for over six years and I love helping my students to achieve whatever goals they have. I have studied with amazing flute players like Alice K. Dade, Demarre McGill, Elizabeth Osorio and more.
I teach all levels from beginner to advanced and all ages too. I believe music is for everyone.

As a professional musician who regularly plays with flutists, I was interested in learning more about the technicalities of the instrument to be a better colleague. My lessons with Valentina were engaging, informative, and effective. I was especially impressed at how quickly Valentina was able to get me to produce a not-terrible sound on the instrument, and make the process feel fun at the same time!

Arango is an amazing and well-prepared flutist. I worked with her for a year in the New Music Ensemble at the University of Missouri 2022-23. Her level of preparedness was outstanding, and I was always impressed by her performance and readiness. I love her beautiful and creative playing. There is much I can learn from her, and I really look forward to her future!
