FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
With Thumbtack, my pricing doesn’t really follow my protocol for pricing. I price moves based off of the information I need from the customer. The more information I have the better. With the small amount of info given on this platform, it’s difficult to price efficiently, in my opinion. Nonetheless, I try to price as fair as possible and not take advantage of anyone’s wallet. Doing the right thing is always doing the right thing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get as much information about the move as possible. I have a series of questions I like to go over with the client before the move. One, to gain knowledge about the items and locations and two, I like to build a friendly, trustworthy, and communicative relationship. Moves arent easy for clients and they’re basically hiring strangers to come into their dwelling to move personal items around. Thats not easy to do. So for the time we’re working together I like to build a good, solid relationship to ease that bit of stress on moving day.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The best education is realizing the good from bad movers and taking their knowledge to enhance with your own. Luckily I caught on quick and took away key elements to help me make my moves as easy and efficiently as possible. Work smart and hard, but never just work hard. Out body is our best tool in this industry. Using the brain goes a lot further than using the muscles.
