Introduction

I drive to homes and teach piano lessons. I also teach at home. I try to include songs students are interested in at an appropriate skill level. I am associated with Steinway Piano Gallery. I have 2 student recitals at Steinway every year. Steinway has given us the opportunity to play the piano owned by Vladimir Horowitz. We also played Billy Joel's piano and a piano played by several Steinway artists including Bruce Hornsby. I enjoy meeting new people. I love watching the students progress.

Fern was my piano teacher for about 8 years. She trained me classically and I became an accomplished pianist due to her. She helped me read music, taught me scales and chords and brought from a beginner pianist to an advanced level. She is very reliable: she was always punctual and never cancelled lessons. She's patient and a good teacher and I strongly recommend her for piano lessons.

Fern is an amazing teacher. As an adult, reintroducing myself back into piano, Fern has taken the time to go over technique, theory and basic understandings of piano I lost so long ago. I come from a family of musicians and so glad I found Fern to help me get back to where I need to be. I highly recommend Fern for first time learning or refreshing your piano skills.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are $20 a half hour for the student to travel to my house and $22 a half hour for me to travel to the students house. Payment is due at the beginning of each month . I do charge for lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice . Cancellations due to illness and emergencies will be made up .
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Set up a time to start lessons. Decide what books are best to use for the students age and skill level. Some clients like to meet before starting lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a elementary education degree with a music minor . I studied piano at Akron University for several years. I have taught first grade, second grade and general music for grades 1 through 6. I taught piano lessons at Falls Music in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio for ten years..
