Ryan responded to me within the same hour I requested assistance. He took care of the issue with my sink most efficiently. Finally, he provided cost effective suggestions for the future use of my sink.

Hired on Thumbtack

They converted 2 closets into a master bathroom. So they had to run water lines and electric from the 2nd story to the basement. Then make a step in shower with subway tiles and hex tile flooring. These are pictures of what they deemed complete (I told them I would paint). A job they charged me $9000 for. If you think that’s a good deal by all means hire them. Just be ready for them to come in after noon and work till 10 at night. I’m thinking they did a morning job someplace else then worked at my place in the evening. If this is the case, they should have told me that is what they were planning. I made a list (below) of things they did, or did not do that I felt was wrong. When I paid the final payment I wanted a discount for what they did or didn’t do, but they kept saying they lost money on this deal. Maybe it’s because they took a month to do something they said would take 2 weeks. First one of their guys was sick for a week then the car troubles happened. I believe this is a common thing for contractors. I also don’t believe the owners (maybe Ray) but Sebestian doesn’t do much of the work and they hire people to come in and do their specialty. I will never trust a contractor that can’t do everything they are saying they can get done. But maybe I am wrong and he is knowledgeable with all plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc. it just seemed weird he would be in my house for 9-10 hrs a day and every night I would see very little accomplished. I understand there is a lot of underneath things that get covered up but we were beyond that part. I took daily photos that shows the changes, or lack of. Here are my gripes that they didn’t care about. 1. Had to hire a roofer to hook up the bathroom vent because he thought he could just attach to the old wood chimney pipe. The day after he dry walled the ceiling the snow on the roof melted. Guess where the water went. 2. His guys used my basement sink to clean their tools. He mention to me that the sink was slightly clogged which I told him it always drained slow. My slow is a minute to drain a gallon. Now it takes at least 10 minutes. 3. They used my house vacuum to vacuum the dust without asking. If they would if asked I would have given them my shop vac. 4. It’s a small bathroom so I had things drawn out on the walls to accommodate for everything. I wanted the light switch on the left side of the door (they saw the drawing the very first day they came and even said they like that I did that. But when the time came to instal the switches bit the vent they put it on the right side because that wall was already open. I told them the towel rack needs to go on the right side but if they put the towel rack in the shower, I’m ok with the switches on the right. Well the rack was never installed because he didn’t want to drill the tiles. 5. They left this red stuff on the wall, I believe it’s a water barrier for shower walls. Well they spread some on the wall that was not getting tiled and left it. It rough and would not paint over. I had to putty it myself. 6. They screwed their backdrop in my bedroom. They did fill them with putty 7. I wasn’t planning on putting molding around the base but they left filled areas with grout instead of cutting and placing tiles. The molding I bought is very nice and it’s actually going to look nice in there but a couple places the 15/16” molding doesn’t cover up the grout pools. The hex tiles are 1” so they really could have put another tile in there. 8. They taped paper on the stairway walls and floors. The tape removed some of the paint off my walls as well as the stain on my wood floors. I don’t even know how that is possible. These floors are from 1953 and withstood a lot of things but now they have racing stripes. 9. They left areas I still needed to sand. I guess they assumed since I was going to have to cover that red stuff I was going to be sanding anyways. 10. He talked me out of a light in the shower because “his guy” felt it unsafe. Everyone I talk to now has a light in their showers, even small showers. 11. They did take $100 off my bill because they spilled or over flow of the tile sealant made a mess of the shower pan. He was nice enough to send me a link of the remover. He said he could come do it or take a $100 off. They will never set foot in my house again. Even when something breaks down that they did. I don’t feel confident that everything was done properly. There is more but I’m sure if I haven’t made up your mind to run away from these guys it’s on you. I really did decide against writing a review but everyone has been telling me I need to let people know. My final words of advice would be, take a couple weeks off from work, watch YouTube videos and DIY. That’s what I will be doing.
