I am a dyslexia practitioner through the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, certified special education teacher, and reading specialist. I have 20 years of teaching experience in ages 4 through adult. I founded Reading Results Tutoring in 2017 after I realized that I could improve literacy outcomes for all students on a larger scale. I offer online and in person tutoring services.

My son was showing some gaps in his reading comprehension when he began his tutoring sessions with Mrs. Barbosa. With school being inconsistent that past few years, I was definitely concerned. Mrs. Barbosa was fun, engaging and helped close that gap in reading. My son, who is 7, really enjoyed reading with her and I could see the positive impact she was having on him with his confidence as a reader as well as his growth academically. My fees include materials needed for tutoring sessions.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I assess the student during the first session to find out exact needs. I also progress monitor and provide a report to parents.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Qualifications: M.A. Reading Education, B.S. in Elementary Ed and Special Education, Associate of the Orton Gillingham Academy and working towards becoming a Certified Member of the Orton Gillingham Academy.
