- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
FOR ARTISTS, MUSICIANS/BANDS, SINGER/SONGWRITERS: • The first step is to have a phone interview. We briefly discuss the type of project the client is interested in pursuing. After a few basic questions are answered, I ask the client if they would like to view the facility and to meet face to face to further discuss the options. We then set up an appointment. • When the client arrives, I usually begin with a relaxed "get to know us” meeting in the lounge area. We have a cup of coffee, tea, water etc. I give a short history of the company and my credentials and talk about some of the notable artists and clients that we have worked with. As we become a bit more familiar with each other, we then enter into a more detailed discussion about what the client wants to accomplish. • After the customer feels a bit more comfortable, we then go to the recording studio where we show them what we have to offer. There is a demonstration of the sonic attributes of the room and the many different styles of musical arrangements that have been produced at our facility. Depending on what the artist/client is there for, sometimes they bring an mp3 or CD and I listen to their song or voice. If they are coming to a studio to make a CD and do not have one, they may perform a live audition. From there I can begin to assess their level of expertise. I then answer their questions about the costs of the project and how we can budget their sessions to accommodate their needs. • If the client decides to engage our services, we send them contracts to be reviewed and signed. When they approve the contracts, we take a deposit up front. Once the paperwork is out of the way, we begin our musical or artistic journey. When the project is completed, we collect the remaining balance due. • If an artist is looking for consultation about the music industry, I offer my advice and suggest information they may find helpful. If they need help with artist development, we discuss the next phase, which includes showcasing, events, social media marketing, graphic artwork packaging, and distribution options. If they are songwriters with original material, we offer help with copyright filing or licensing cover material as well as setting, them up with Performance Rights Organizations like ASCAP or BMI. FOR AD AGENCIES, FILM PRODUCTION, CORPORATE, RECORD & PUBLISHING COMPANYS: • If an ad agency, film company, record/publishing company, corporation, web design team etc. needs a song or score, voice over, soundesign or multimedia presentation, then a meeting may be set up at their offices to discuss the direction, style and content. I usually attend the meeting with my representative and gather as much information as I can to make sure that we are on point with the client's requirements. • We arrange to procure the talent and then file the necessary licenses, union contracts, and copyright forms. A session is scheduled, approvals confirmed and deadlines met! • FOR VIDEOGRAPHY, EDITING AND EVENTS; We offer post and pre production services. We coordinate the project with our affiliated associates and aid in all aspects of the production.i
