Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction
On the print side, I design print pieces that not only look good, but are properly built and efficient for the printer, saving my clients time and money by not having unexpected extra cost added to the job. On the web side, I provide unique ideas, very personal service and fast turnaround. Creating something new. Especially when the client is as thrilled as I am about a design that I created! That is my favorite thing.

When it came time for me to get a website for my business, I had an idea of what I wanted, but didnt know how to do it. Joel at SillyCar Design started off asking what was important to me and not trying to impress his ideas unless I asked for his opinion. It's a difficult thing to have a vision in your head but unable to put it into an actual visual, and that can be a painstaking burden on the web designer..and believe me I'm sure it wasn't easy dealing with my ideas and questions! Joel was nothing short of remarkable with his patience and his ability to take my visions and make them a working visual reality. He designed my logo and built my website exactly the way I wanted it, all the while suggesting ideas I would have never thought of and added in all the ins and outs that makes it user friendly and run smoothly. His customer support is second to none and is always there if I need to change something, as well as if he sees an issue, I get contacted as well. Whether it's design, hosting or one of the other many things Silly Car Design offers, I know it will be top notch service and a great value. Highly recommended! Thanks for everything! Mark.H

Joel has designed several event graphics for the Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association's social media platforms and website. Most notably, he has worked along with us and several local small businesses to create graphics for Small Business Saturday, which are used to highlight and promote "Shopping Small" in Ballston Spa. In each case, he worked closely with the businesses to be sure the graphics met with their approval, taking suggestions and requests for changes with ease, and ultimately producing visually attractive graphics that really were a hit with everyone. In all aspects of his work, Joel is responsive, timely, knowledgeable, attentive to details and eager to be sure that the product matches the vision. We are confident that when we look to Joel to help us create promotional pieces, he'll come through with quality work.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am constantly training through online courses to keep myself sharp and able to adapt to the ever changing internet and its standards. I love to learn new things and apply them to my work!

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

After studying Computer Science in college, I realized that I could not be a programmer for a living. There is a lot of creativity to be expressed in programming, but it is very frustrating. I purchased a Macintosh computer when I was a junior in college and just really enjoyed creating things graphically with it. By the time I was finished with my Computer Science degree, I knew what I wanted to do. The programming background combined with my now many years of experience working in commercial printing has also given me an edge over other designers because I understand the technical ins and outs of the hardware, operating systems and software that are essential tools of this trade.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You have tons of choices when hiring a graphic designer. There are so many of them out there. Many are very good designers and some are good at many things. I am good at many things and can provide a lot more services than most graphic designers (I can provide web and print design, print brokering with great pricing because of my connections with printers, custom print items like outdoor signage, floor graphics, magnets, stickers, custom labels etc., every door direct mailing services, and more). A one stop shop could be better for many people and that is something to consider when hiring a provider like me. My advice is to look at the designers portfolio, then if you like their work, check their reviews and contact some of their past clients to see what they have to say about how they are to work with and go from there.
