After working in a correctional facility, psychiatric hospital, and rehabilitation centers, she realized most of the counseling suggested was geared towards lessons learned through the practice of yoga. Inspired by her clients, she completed her yoga teacher certificate in Ko Pha-ngan, Thailand with the desire to incorporate holistic healing through her teachings. Melissa’s intention is to support each student to leave their session with a greater understanding of their mind body connection, feeling a physical and energetic shift than when they first arrived.
Yoga connects the mind and body, allowing changes to occur on a physical and mental level. Relieve your stress, calm the nervous system, sharpen your attention while increasing your body awareness. Flow through postures that improve symptoms of depression and sleep disorders. Practice and learn different breathing techniques to reduce anxiety. Through consistent practice the strength, flexibility and focus gained on the yoga mat will follow you through your every day life.
