Lorray was very unprofessional .I would never do business with Ray again. I have done business with other videographers before and had they not moved out of the N.Y.C. area (because it is expensive to operate here) I would have used them again. After my experience with Ray I think that I would have rather flown a videographer from out of state to come to New York. In my personal opintion Ray's business ethic is about the lowest that I have ever seen . I think that there are some decent respectable,professional videographers on thumbtack ,I just stuck out and got the wrong one. I will never make this mistake again!!!! Steven P.

This client contracted with Lorray Digital Video to film his magic act at a high school in Queens, NY. Using the date he supplied on the contract, I drove three hours through a snow storm to be on time for his performance. Upon arriving at the high school, I called the client to ask where he wanted me to enter the school. When he told me that I was there on the wrong date, I pulled up the contract to prove to him that he had put the wrong date on the contract. As per the policies of LDV, due to his totally unprofessional actions, he forfeited his deposit. While he acknowledged the mistake as his, he never apologized, and then turned defensive and angry when told he would forfeit his deposit. When I sent him a copy of the policy that he signed off on, he sent a bizarre and unintelligible response. Because I stood firm in enforcing the policy, I have had to be the public target of his rage. I had spent several hours preparing for his performance, prepping the right equipment, making sure I arrived on time, etc. but due to another commitment on the actual date of his performance, I was unable to provide services for him on that date. Why he has accused me of unprofessionalism is baffling. I went above and beyond to be at the place where he was to perform, had several conversations with him both on the phone and through emails, I spent time studying the "mistakes" he made in other performances that he wanted to avoid, and was completely prepared to shoot his act. I never turned on a camera. I did nothing but go above and beyond for this client. Unfortunately for me, Thumbtack customer support's policies do not allow them to remove ratings and reviews, even if they are 100% false. You can judge for yourself if my actions warrant the one star rating and the review that he wrote.

We are very competitive when it comes to pricing, and will work with clients to insure that what we bid is commensurate with the client's needs, budget, and goals for the project. This means that we will be sensitive to financial needs, generous with our time, and fair with our expectations.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Here is our process for working with a new customer: 1) Begin with consultations and conferencing, insuring that we establish excellent communication channels with the client(s). 2) Learn what the objectives are for the production - find out exactly what the client wishes to achieve 3) Develop a plan for addressing the objectives - whether it be a video treatment, script, or simple shot list 4) Present plans/scripts/etc to client for them to sign off 5) Implement the plan, prepare a draft for review 6) Client review of the draft, receive comments and edit points 7) Make adjustments as needed 8) Prepare final draft for review 9) Final review by client 10) Render master file
