- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $70/hour. I also will do a 45 minute lesson for $60. I generally do not do 30 minute lessons because I cannot cover everything we need to in that time (go through exercises and repertoire).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Stetson University and a Masters of Music in Voice from Manhattan School of Music. I also have 30+ years experience singing at New York City Opera and other venues. In fact, I continue to study voice with a wonderful teacher, Mr. David Jones. David is my teaching mentor as well. He holds two Teaching Seminars on teaching voice and the Swedish-Italian technique each year in NYC that I attend. He actually does these seminars all over the U.S. and in Europe. I continue to study, practice and work on my voice which gives me great joy. If you don't use it, you lose it!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always loved singing. I started studying piano at age 6 (my older brother studied piano and I followed in his footsteps). I studied through High School - but then I found my voice and starred in the musicals. Once I did that, I had to sing! And since I come from a family of teachers, it was just a natural extension for me to teach.
