FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
30-minute lessons - $75 45-minute lessons - $115 1-hour lessons - $150 Note: I require 24 hours of notice for cancelations.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I like to do is find out my student’s “Why.” The clearer we both are on *why* you want to train your voice and what your connection, goals and intentions with singing are, the easier it is to make progress. Clarity and communication are very important. Then I walk you through some custom diagnostic vocal exercises to assess your strengths and weaknesses and determine what exercises would be best to focus on to take your singing to the next level. I work in a very intuitive, yet methodic way. I also enjoy educating the student on how the voice works, but only as much or as little as they are interested in. The most important aspects of lessons is the environment of support and encouragement along with the actual vocalizing (vocal exercising).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater and I focused most of my education on voice. I took singing lessons every semester, both in college (the traditional classical curriculum) and out of college (pop, rock, R&B, jazz and contemporary singing). I have studied and continue to study voice with over a dozen renowned contemporary voice teachers, both privately and in group sessions, workshops and master classes. I have vocalized thousands of hours and continue to study and hone my craft on a daily basis. The college degree was just the beginning of my education and training. I never stop learning about the voice and singing.
