FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The charge for a standard piano tuning is based on a 90 min appt for the tuning and includes travel time/cost and also minor adjustments and repairs to the piano. If the piano is quite out of tune a pitch raise (essentially a preliminary tuning) may be necessary for an additional $40. My ultimate goal is to leave the client satisfied with a playable instrument that sounds great.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have a customized approached with every customer. I attempt to get to know the piano history, issues/problems with the instrument, and also the expectations of the customer. I will give my honest opinion on any repair or difficult tuning and have a satisfaction guarantee to make sure the customer is pleased with the work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed an apprenticeship under a piano technician in my home state of Wisconsin, and furthered my study through practical application as a pianist, accompanist, composer and music teacher. I have worked and trained with multiple piano companies and factories including Steinway & Sons
