Introduction
Dear future students!
My name is Brenda and I teach Piano, Music theory, Ear training and Composition to Preschool, Elementary and older students in New York City. My method is always personalized to each student and age appropriate, with the possibility of teaching the whole lesson in ITALIAN, if preferred.
I immediately teach my students COMPOSITION and EAR TRAINING as an integral part of my piano class, along with the basics of music theory applied on the keyboard. I have 15 years of experience in teaching piano and general music to young students and I know their attention span is often very short and challenging, which led me to develop an engaging and dynamic (and fun!) method.
I rely on my Italian musical background and encourage students to explore a lot of European composers from Clementi, Scarlatti, Verdi, all the way to Luciano Berio and Ludovico Einaudi. I am well versed in the American repertoire as well and although I don't teach Jazz I often recommend the music of Gershwin and Earl Wild to my advanced students.
I offer online lessons as well (I am based in New York City), which is completely fine with me as I have a lot of experience in online teaching. I hold music degrees from the Conservatory of Music in Torino, Italy and from Hunter College, NYC.
My rates are $60/30 mins, $90/45 mins or $120/60 mins.
I offer discounts for a bundle of 8 lessons: $400/30 mins, $650/45 mins, $850/60 mins.

My kids first met Brenda in a preschool setting. There, with Brenda kids learned music in a fun and creative way. While ensuring a playful approach to music, Brenda made sure the kids also absorbed the basics of music, internalized rhythm and were exposed to different genres of music. During the pandemic she provided families with resources to allow the kids to continue their musical growth.
When my kids decided a few years later that they wanted to learn piano, reaching out to Brenda felt natural given her talent and professionalism as a musician and her warmth and gentleness as a teacher. Since starting learning piano with Brenda, my kids have been extremely enthusiastic and eager to practice and to meet for lessons. They have made incredible progress in a very short time from a technical point of view and even at the very beginning Brenda has made sure their exercises were melodic and enjoyable while structured and well-thought. She just created an Halloween song that meets their current abilities and she accompanies them when they play to make it more interesting and exciting. She is very committed to help kids master solid piano skills and cultivate a passion for music in general.
From a parent perspective, she has been also extremely flexible and accommodating when we had to tweak a bit the schedule.
We are very grateful and feel very lucky to have Brenda as our piano teacher and couldn’t recommend her more!
