My name Is Jack Gruber and I would love to work with you! A few things about myself: I was accepted out of the whole state of Maryland to be the sole All State Jazz Pianist. I played on VEVO Dscvr with renowned pop artist Zara Larrson. I have played for Vevo DSCVR I also hold a BM in piano performance from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City. I have over 15 years of playing experience and 9 years of teaching experience. I work with the student to develop a lesson plan tailored to their interests and ensure they get as much as possible out of each lesson.

I just had my fifth jazz piano lesson with Jack. I cannot be happier! He is a delight to work with! You can tell he has a passion for teaching. He is knowledgeable and patient and was quickly able to figure out what level of playing I am at and tailor the lessons to my needs. My playing is already much improved. I am interested in playing jazz standards and currently at a late beginner/early intermediate level. I was a little concerned about trying to do piano lessons by Zoom but it has worked out great! For my first lesson I had my computer camera pointed to see me and my keyboard, but this proved unnecessary because his ear is so good, he can tell what I am playing just by listening. So now I just have the computer camera facing me like a normal Zoom call.

Wonderful Piano Teacher!! I’ve been teaching myself to play piano for quite some time but it didn’t really lead me anywhere but after meeting Jack my piano skills have improved greatly. Jack was amazing!!! He's super nice and fun and ridiculously amazing at playing the piano. I've had a lot of teachers who were boring and honestly... dulled my interest in music. Jack definitely motivated me to pursue my passion for playing piano further! I've noticed so much improvement in my playing too! I'll never go to another teacher after taking a lesson with him.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start with a discussion of their goals, and adjust my lesson plans to ensure we are always working toward them! FYI: I'm unable to accept NJ students in-person at this time, but am happily to teach them remotely!

One who was so inspired by our lessons, he moved to LA under the stage name "Franke" to pursue a full-time career in music. His music videos and can be seen on youtube with over 5 million views. I have developed successful practice methods that can keep students interested while improving their skill exponentially. My experience playing multiple genres makes me a versatile teacher that can tailor his lesson plan to whatever the student's goals are in music. I have had many other students over the years as well and have had a wonderful and professional relationship with each of them.
