FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
MixyPaws was founded by Kate and Ethan; they are both New Yorkers who are lifelong dog owners and dog lovers. We understand how busy life can be living in this city and recognized the absence of a service that provided the level of professionalism and care we would want and expect for our own dogs. The simple answer is that we were inspired by our pets. The long answer is that Kate and Ethan saw an opportunity to add professionalism and personalization to an industry that seemed to lack those values. Our founders knew that we would be more than capable to fill that void and provide the highest level of care for New Yorkers and their pups.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
MixyPaws Co-Founder, Ethans', favorite and most successful project is Maximus the Chihuahua. When Ethan won the opportunity to work with Maximus, he was a five year old Chihuahua with territorial anxiety which led to aggression. Leo prevented guests of his owners to feel comfortable in their home by growling and biting at their feet. A few weeks later, Maxs owner has created boundaries in her apartment and is able to bring guests into her home without fear of her dog running them out. Max is now able to walk in with his friend Bella every day around noon during a MixyWalk - a proposition that seemed impossible only weeks before.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
We would tell them to pay close attention to how the provider is talking to you and if they are actually listening. If you are not 100% certain that they care about you and your best friend, do you really think their walker will?
