FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start with an initial consultation in which we will discuss your fitness goals, past workout experience, health history and any concerns you have before moving forward. This is typically done over the phone and takes about 15 minutes. In our first session, I will have you do a few standardized exercises, with modifications if needed, to get a better idea of how you move and what exercises are appropriate for your needs and goals. This first meeting typically takes about 45 minutes. Between the consultation and the first session, I will have the information necessary to design a workout program tailored specifically to your goals and abilities, and optionally a nutrition program as well. We will commence this program the next time we meet.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am accredited by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and partake in continuing education regularly to brush up on old skills and learn new ones. My most recent course addressed musculoskeletal pathologies. I have been training professionally since 2019.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I moved to NYC in 2017 with little idea of what I wanted to do professionally. I always had an interest in sports and fitness, and that interest was expressed by participation in ballet and tap dancing, marathons, rugby, aerial arts, yoga and boxing, supplemented by functional weight training. So, after about a year and a half in the city, working out and giving fitness advice to friends and family, I realized that it made a lot of sense to pursue a career in this field that I have been passionate about all my life. I worked at a top New York gym for three years, and received invaluable knowledge from my managers, fellow trainers, and the company's continuing education program. I decided to branch out on my own so I could reach more people, and have been running my own business ever since. It's been an exciting journey so far and I'm looking forward to developing it further!
