FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Upon initial contact, I will need to know about the type of document that needs notarization, confirm that the requested notarial act is within my legal capabilities and jurisdiction, and confirm if there are any specific requirements. Next, we will discuss availability and schedule a convenient time and place for the notarization and provide an estimate of the fees, including any travel expenses. Once this is confirmed, I advise my client to have the documents ready and to not sign them until I am present. I also confirm they have the proper identification documents needed (typically a government-issued photo ID). When I arrive at the agreed location on time, I verify the client's identity using the required identification documents. I then review the documents to be notarized to ensure they are complete and ready for notarization. I always confirm that the signer understands the document and is signing it willingly. The three parts of performing the notarial act include witnessing the signature, completing the notarial certificate, and record-keeping. Once this is complete, I review the notarized document with the customer and collect the agreed-upon fee.
