I am a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, marriage/relationship therapist, family constellation therapist, as well as life and business coach with 25+ years of professional experience in four different countries.
I specialize in trauma therapy, grief therapy, as well as psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), cannabis-assisted psychotherapy (CAP), psychedelic integration and harm reduction, and Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP).
I have extensive training and professional experience not only in clinical psychology, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, CBT, EMDR, IFS, marriage/couples therapy, sex therapy, systemic family constellations, and coaching - but also in music, dance, the creative arts, the performing arts, and in various body-mind techniques (yoga, shiatsu, TCM, martial arts, meditation and trance techniques, etc.).
In my therapeutic work, therefore, I use a rather rich and varied repertoire of therapeutic and coaching techniques.
In the field of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies, I've trained with and am certified by the best training institutions in the US: Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), California Insititute of Integral Studies (CIIS), Psychedelic Somatic Institute (PSI), The Ketamine Training Center (KTR), Fluence, etc.
A former Supervisor of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Therapy at Mount Sinai St. Luke's and Mount Sinai West Hospitals in NYC, I now run a successful private practice in Manhattan.
In 25+ years of professional experience, I have worked with the whole gamut of psychological and relationship problems, psychiatric disorders, and neuropsychological conditions both in clinical and in private settings.
I also have worked for large corporations and small companies, and have been a successful executive coach and workshop leader for over two decades.
I've also been a professor and lecturer at several universities for over two decades.
In individual therapy, I help my clients identify thoughts and emotions which - if left to run on auto pilot - cause us pain, lead us to wrong decisions, and make us feel anxious, angry, depressed, unhappy.
We explore how earlier life experiences are still present in the automatic (and unconscious) response patterns of our bodies and nervous systems, and work not only with thoughts and emotions but also with the body.
In couples therapy (with or without psychedelics), I help the couple resolve both the problems they have as a couple (communication, trust, intimacy, sex, infidelity, conflicts, family planning, divorce, abuse etc.) and the problems of one or both of the partners that seem to contribute to their challenges as a couple.
I strongly believe in the power of our mind and intellect, too, and I like to explain relevant psychological concepts to my clients.
Intellectual understanding and insight can be our most powerful allies in motivating us to do all the emotional, somatic and spiritual work that is needed to heal from decades of trauma and conditioning, and that is required to achieve lasting change.
And last but not least, I strongly believe in the spiritual properties of our sense of humor, fun, play and creativity.
Because when our heart is open, ... and when we start to heal, ... tears and smiles seem to go hand in hand.
And because healing always implies that we regain our ability to see human nature for what it is: imperfect, fragile, ... yet all the more lovable.
