Hi beautiful, my name is Kathryn I am a certified professional makeup artist with 9 years of experience and formal training from Glam Labs International Academy in NYC.
I work from my studio in my apartment on the West Side near the Yankee > stadium, close to the <Washington > bridge. Many of my clients travel in from surrounding areas because they trust my work and love the relaxed, private studio setting.
I create everything from soft, natural looks to full glam on all ethnicities. I listen closely to the look you want and won’t let you leave until you’re completely happy.
• $20 non‑refundable deposit per person required
• Extra fee for appointments before 9am and after 6pm

Everyone at my birthday party said I had never looked so beautiful. My husband was showing me off all night long. The makeup was flawless I looked like a celebrity. I already booked her again for a wedding I’m attending next month. You will love her and her beautiful studio Aromatherapy smell in the air and relaxing music. She is worth much more. Kathryn was so good from start to finish. She is very responsive, and answered any questions we had. I hired her to do me, my mom, my daughter and my best friend's makeup for my brother's wedding and let me tell you she did not disappoint. My mom is more mature looking and she had no issues making her look beautiful. My daughter is 13 and she did her makeup so appropriately yet still glamorous. Kathy was such a doll!
She responded quickly to me and even suggested coming earlier than the time I said just to make sure I had enough time to go back home & finish getting ready for the 10am wedding ceremony. It was early in the morning when I went & she played spa music. I probably went in and out of sleep a few times 😂. This was my first time getting my makeup done and she made my experience amazing! Made me look like an African QUEEEEENN. My makeup lasted from 8am (when she finished) to 2am when I washed it off. I had my mask on & everything. It did transfer, but not to the point where it was noticeable that some makeup came off. She listened to my concern of textured skin & my neck being darker than my face, She took her time, explained what’s going on as she went. Also made sure to follow COVID guidelines when it comes to being a makeup artist. She checked up with me days leading to my big day & called the night before & gave me tips to prep my fave for makeup application. Talk about customer service! I can’t thank her enough!

I absolutely loved it. Exactly what I needed. Having little sleep for the past two weeks and sleeping only two hours the night before. I was amazed in how flawless me and everyone else looked. Kathryn was amazing! She was very responsive to my texts. I felt at ease while she did my makeup. She made sure to give me options and ask what my preferences were for the thickness of eyebrow, shade of lipstick etc. She was also very generous with her knowledge of makeup products. She explained what she was applying every step, and even suggested products and brands I could use in the future. She was safe and followed Covid safety habits. I dyed my hair right before my appointment, and she quickly adjusted, finding a more flattering foundation. My makeup lasted all night, came out amazing in pictures and felt weightless on my face. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Even though I’m a Top Pro here in Thumbtack I like to keep my price reasonable because I want everyone to be able to afford getting their makeup done at least once. I do this because I totally love doing it.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin by asking them how comfortable they are wearing makeup and how do they want to look and feel after their makeup session with me. I also ask them what color is the outfit they will be wearing. And most important what are their main skin concerns.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I obtained my certificate as an International Makeup Artist at a very prestigious Academy in New York City’s Fashion District.
