FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Initial Consultation: We begin with a scheduled complimentary zoom or showroom appointment. We will review your project in detail; please bring any inspiration images you may have and floor plans of the space. We want to hear about your must-haves and overall goals of the space. Following our meeting, it takes Townhouse Kitchens 1-2 weeks to develop a written budget proposal, design drawings, and mood board. We will set up a following meeting to review the proposal together. 2. Retainer: If the budget and design are accepted, we require a retainer payment. The retainer will be applied to your kitchen cabinetry and is not refundable if you do not purchase your cabinets from Townhouse Kitchens. Retainers are 10% of your kitchen budget, and once received, we move forward to the design phase of the project. 3. Design Phase: During this time, we come to your home and take detailed measurements of your space. We take inventory of your cooking equipment to confirm the best storage solutions are being used. We release our AutoCAD drawings to your contractor, architect, and interior designer. We finalize all finishes and order a sample door for your project. Once approved, we create photorealistic renderings of your space. This allows us to make any last-minute changes before placing any orders. 4. Contract Phase: After reviewing all drawings and finishes, we require a signed contract, and a 50% deposit for cabinetry. At this time, we will provide delivery dates and begin renovation scheduling. 5. Site Coordination: Townhouse Kitchens spends a great deal of time on your construction site with the general contractor checking on framing dimensions, plumbing roughs, electrical requirements, and coordinating cabinetry delivery. While your contractor is fully responsible for preparing the site for install, we find it is important to work hand-in-hand to ensure no project delays occur. This service is included in your kitchen cabinetry contract and goes a long way to ensure a smooth install. 6. Installation Phase: Ten business days prior to delivery, we will request the delivery payment. We will schedule and monitor the cabinetry delivery. The cabinetry will be brought in by insured, professional movers, at which point our experienced carpenters will take over. Our jobs usually take anywhere from four days to two weeks to install depending on scale of project. Countertops, backsplash, and plumbing will follow in the subsequent 2-5 weeks. Typically, these tasks are scheduled with the general contractor. 7. Aftercare: Once the space is installed and finished up, we require a final walk-through with you. We will review all your accessories, any needed paint touch ups, and any questions the client has. When everything is approved, the final payment will be due. Our goal is to make sure that you are happy with the finished project; we want the best culinary experience for our clients!
