FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a flat rate of $45/hour, and I recommend at least two sessions per week for the best progress. While I don’t typically offer discounts, I do ensure every session is packed with value. You can choose between in-person sessions (only available in Manhattan or Brooklyn) or online lessons that come with added flexibility and resources such as screen sharing for videos and interactive exercises. No hidden fees – just straightforward, effective lessons.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start by getting to know you and your specific goals for learning French. Whether you're traveling to France, preparing for a big move, or looking to sharpen your skills for professional reasons (such as reading medical reports in French), I'll tailor each lesson to your needs. Our first session typically includes a short assessment to determine your current level and a conversation about what you’d like to achieve. We’ll also set up a study plan that balances speaking, listening, writing, and grammar, with optional homework to reinforce what you’ve learned.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been teaching French for many years, starting with helping non-French-speaking colleagues in Paris who were from the U.S. or the U.K. After moving to the U.S., I continued teaching French to individuals and groups, and over time, I’ve refined my approach based on their feedback. My background includes both formal and informal teaching, focusing on providing practical, real-world language skills in a supportive and engaging way.
