Mike is a great COACH & TUTOR. Mike's been coaching me on an important computer-project to run my small business (independent contractor). I needed someone to work-along-side-me, (TEACH & COACH) to use my computer more strategically for my business to increase efficiency & effectiveness without any added-stress.
I’ve been working as a “sole proprietor” for over 30 years & I’m a “do-it-yourself-person,” with a “can-do” positive-attitude. While I love DOING my business, I dread the “tedious-boring-tasks” of bookkeeping & computer tasks that I didn't yet understand. I've done all my own detail-work and computer tasks since I first started my business. I’m a college graduate (a "young"-58-year-old) & my "hands-on approach" to my independent business has served me well over the years. But recently "hit a wall" with a work-project where I found I needed help - and I didn't know where to turn. I knew I needed specific coaching regarding how I was using my computer, and HOW I could get past ALL THE "old-school" paper stacks in my home-office, and do more effective tracking and record-keeping on my computer -- and I’m SO GLAD I found Mike.
I searched for someone who would really LISTEN to what I actually NEEDED to accomplish (and not just try to teach me general "stuff" about the computer). I needed someone who was willing to LEARN my specific business needs in order to FOCUS DIRECTLY on how to do this project & guide me in my computer efforts, so that my computer projects would SERVE my small business & SAVE me TIME.
MIKE was the ANSWER. He responded the VERY DAY I requested him (which was lucky because he’s busy and in demand). He MADE TIME for me, and Mike respected my urgency to get this project done.
Most importantly, Mike LISTENED to my unique small-business-needs, and he understood what I was trying to accomplish - and he helped ME get the job done (with his coaching).
I've seen that Mike is proficient working with a small business & me as an independent contractor. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The best way to start together, is to have a list prepared of all the technology items that are causing you trouble. In addition, it is a great idea to have a list of items/skills you’d like to add to your technology tool belt. I always love to sit down with clients in our first session and write down a list of all their aspirations so we make sure to not only cover all of them, but to do so in the easiest and most efficient way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to numerous courses at Rutgers University, I have worked as a corporate trainer for Apple for 3 years. I have also held multiple IT and computer training positions over the years.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Over the last decade I’ve had the opportunity to work with clients from 7-95 years old. I specialize in working with those who are 50+, as they appreciate the patience and understanding I have for the way in which they learn best.
