My teaching methodology is based on my experience as a professional trumpet player in New York City, as well as concepts taken from eastern philosophies. I received my masters from Manhattan School of Music where I studied 18th century counterpoint and composition with the late Ludmila Ulehla Having studied, performed, and written music in all genres. I majored in Jazz/Contemporary music. I have boiled down all that I have learned into methodologies that are useful the improviser or composer. The concepts are easy to understand and implement. These concepts are relevant to all types of music. The student, from day one, will learn by ear and use their creative impulses to create their own melodies eventually creating their own melodies. The part I enjoy most about teaching privately, as opposed to large groups, is that you can see very closely the rate of progress that the student is making every week. Rapid progress on an instrument happens when the week's lesson is tailor-made for each students strengths and weaknesses. I specialize in trumpet however the concepts can be applied on any instrument.
