FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $300 for basic marriage license signings. $450-$600 for Elopements, and $650-$900 for weddings depending on date, guest count and and what is required of me with regards to personalizing your ceremonial rites, helping with vows and the conduction of the rehearsal plus travel fees if outside of local NYC. Any past client will testify that I'm well worth what I charge because their day gets executed flawlessly, they are set up for the best photos and they truly have a blast. I give $50 discounts to veterans and teachers.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically meet with my clients via zoom first. The consultation usually takes between 1 hr to 1 hr and a 1/2. I will walk you through everything. How the processional/recessional should go if you're having a wedding or the logistics for an elopement and then I go over the ceremony. I break everything down and ask questions about what you do and do not want included. I go over the marriage license process, including how to apply, (That's on you and your fiancé to do so) and I will ensure it's filled out correctly by your witnesses the day of and myself and it will be mailed on the next business day after the ceremony to the county clerk where the marriage was conducted in. After the zoom call, I email my clients a contract and a couple of questionnaires so that I can better get to know them and what they want and a google doc of the of ceremony details so the couple and their bridal party can memorize everything better. I have it all written out. Once my clients send the contract and the non-refundable $100 retainer to save the date, and their questionnaires back, I then begin to write their script. It is a collaborative process as we go over it together and we make any edits you'd like. Depending on how far away the date is we'd be checking in every now and again to make sure you're on track with your planning and that you're all set for the big day.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a registered wedding officiant with New York State and an ordained Minister with the Universal Life Church. I have been in the wedding industry for 7 years. I've seen all aspects of a wedding since I've worked well over 1000 at this point and that expertise comes in handy all the time. I first started out in (wedding) catering as a waitress and eventually I became an event planner that specializes in weddings and for the past 3 years I've been officiating. It's given me great fulfillment and it takes a certain kind of personality to do this job.
