Within our policy, we provide workmanship warranties backing up our work.
"A lot of people here are saying that it's BS if a contractor offers a workmanship warranty over 1 or 2 or 5 or 10 years. I don't think that's necessarily true. They're saying they are 100% certain of their installation techniques and if anything goes wrong as a result of their work, they will fix it. For sure I agree that if anything IS going to go wrong, it will usually happen within the first year or two (like the first rain, for example). However, take this for instance: a piece of chimney flashing was mistakenly left uninstalled. This led to leaking that you don't discover until some years later - after the workmanship warranty expired. The roofer says "sorry, the warranty expired a couple months ago" but really the problem started immediately, and a good contractor would take responsibility for this.
If something goes wrong with your roof, it is either due to a) poor installation, in which case the contractor should take care of it no matter when the problem is discovered; b) a product defect in which case the manufacturer will handle it (see the terms of asphalt shingles "lifetime" prorated warranties); c) storm-related damage, in which case insurance will cover it; or d) your roof is really old and it's just time for a new one, in which case you will handle it.
If (a), then what matters is that you've hired an honest and reputable company."(Story from the Internet) Exactly agreed though!!!!
