Introduction
I am a Mannes School of Music piano graduate who has been teaching in the Queens/Long Island area for the past six years. My teaching experience includes teaching my own private studio, teaching fellow colleagues in college, teaching at a private music school, and substituting for fellow colleagues. I am currently teaching in my own private studio. My students have often reached their goals with me, and at times exceeded their expectations. I don’t only teach how to read the music, but also what the composer intended in the score, and the musicality needed to sway the audience. My lessons cover more than just playing piano, and includes music theory, piano literature, and music history. Learning theory helps you understand the music even more, and is a helpful tool to aid your ability to play piano proficiently. My lessons are fast paced but covers all the details. I make sure my students understand the concepts before moving on. Many have won awards from international competitions, and some have performed in prestigious halls such as Carnegie Hall and Merkin Hall. I have personally worked with world class musicians during my training. Pedagogues include Yuri Kim, Mark Evans, Daria Rabotkina, Stephanie Brown, Massimiliano Ferrati, Quynh Nguyen, Vladimir Valjarevic, Michael Thomopoulos, Vladimir Valjarevic, John Kamitsuka, and Oxana Yablonskaya. I continuously reinvest resources, and time into becoming a better teacher. I connect with my former teachers about their methods, and have joined organizations such as MTNA, and Piano Teachers Congress. My efforts have been recognized by Steinway & Sons, one of the best piano manufacturers in the world. I joined their Steinway Teacher and Educational Partner program in 2023. My annual recitals will be held in the prestigious Steinway Hall in Manhattan, thanks to the Partnership program. Please feel free to reach out to me to inquire about my lessons. I am passionate about teaching piano, and hope that students are inspired the same way I was.

Meyer is an exceptional piano teacher. I’ve observed my 10-year-old daughter’s piano lessons with Meyer for the last three months, and it has been a joy to see and hear how much she has grown as a musician. Meyer catches bad habits before they begin, as he instills good habits of technique and mind. He challenges his students while developing a kind and patient rapport. My daughter loves learning piano, even when she is working through a new technique or rhythm. Having grown up taking piano lessons for 12 years myself, Meyer is the teacher I wish I had back then. I am grateful that my child has the opportunity to learn piano and musicianship with Meyer.

I’ve been working with Meyer for about a month now. He creates a learning atmosphere that suites my personality. I think what has stood out is the pace of learning. He’s critical about me being absolutely knowledgeable of what we learned before we move on. I’m in my late 20’s and learning piano from scratch. Meyers’ personality and communication makes me feel confident as a beginner. He teaches you how to practice correctly, gives light homework (which I really appreciate), and even music to listen to to train the ear. Like I said it’s only been a month but I very much look forward to every lesson. I know Meyer will bring out my full potential. -Calvin Luk PS- practice practice practice

Meyer is a wonder instructor! Adult learner here and have been taking lessons with him for about seven months. He is super observant and he provides helpful tips for fingering, technique, with supplements of music theory in every lesson. Glad that he takes time to share his knowledge of music theory because it’s amazing how having an understanding in music theory helps with picking up reading and playing the music. He also deepened my knowledge about classical music and composers which allows me to appreciate music even more. As an instructor, Meyer is extremely patient, encouraging, and kind. He also has a grand piano which makes the lessons even more enjoyable. All in all, Meyer is a wonderful person and teaches in a professional manner. Highly recommend!

Meyer is a great piano teacher for my daughter, it’s not easy to teach a 5-yr old but he has done an amazing job teaching my daughter how to play piano and read notes.

Meyer is an attentive and motivating teacher. He is an extremely skilled pianist and has a wealth of knowledge in music. I was self-conscious as a beginner but immediately felt comfortable with him from my first lesson. His teachings have deepened my appreciation of music overall, and I feel I improve with each lesson.
