I had a terrible experience with Erin Powers as the DJ for my wedding. From the beginning, there were red flags I should have taken more seriously. During our initial interview, she barely asked any questions about the event, which seemed strange for someone who should be concerned with the details. I repeatedly requested a contract, but she either didn’t understand what that was or simply ignored it. Communication with her was extremely challenging. Her messages were almost unreadable, and it was like she was incapable of writing clearly. A few days before the wedding, she claimed to have an emergency. While I understand that emergencies happen, she provided no reassurance or solution, which forced me to make the difficult decision to find a new DJ at the last minute. Thankfully, the replacement DJ was outstanding and made it clear what a professional really brings to an event. When I requested a refund, she said it would take weeks to issue it, citing that DJing is her full-time job. Then, oddly, she claimed she couldn’t process the refund on a certain day because her sister had passed away… in 2016. This was confusing and irrelevant, and felt like an excuse to avoid returning my money. In hindsight, I wish I’d listened to other negative reviews and saved myself the trouble. If you’re looking for someone reliable and professional, I strongly recommend going with someone else. Erin’s lack of organization, poor communication skills, and questionable professionalism make her a risky choice.
