FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pay as you go rate is $125 per session. For new Thumbtack clients, the consultation/first lesson is $85. After the initial lesson, you are welcome to take lessons at any rate you see fit. Packages are payable in full to receive the discount and expire six months after purchase. Pay as you go = $125 6 session package @ $110 = $660 10 session package @ $100 = $1,000 20 session package @ $90 = $1,800 All lessons are 50 minutes long. Since we do not share space with other couples/dance instructors, we respectfully ask that you give us a 24-hour notice when rescheduling/canceling your session. We value your time and ours. Therefore, session cancelled/rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance will result in $30 fee. Please note we do not provide refunds.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I meet a new Wedding Couple, I start with three important questions: The Song (if you don't have one picked yet, no worries. We can help!) The Dress (will dictate what can & can't be done) The Size of the Venue (how much space do we need to cover) Once we establish these three items we go over what the couple is looking to achieve, a simple romantic dance, or a jaw dropping show! Based on those answers, how quickly the couple picks up dance moves, and their budget - we decide how to proceed. Usually a simple elegant dance takes about six lessons to learn. Something more extravagant would take anywhere from 10-20 lessons. When I meet clients who are looking to learn how to dance for social purposes or have a fun date night, we pick the best dance that would fit the occasion and learn how to dance it! For complete beginners, it usually takes about three lessons to feel comfortable & confident with the moves.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I underwent a 12 month teacher training program for American Ballroom & Latin Dancing in 2011. Since then I have taught over 800 wedding couples for their first dance, as well as other clients looking to have a fun date night, group dance outings or corporate events.
