FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'm fair with everyone and call things the way I see them. I strive to find the most sensible, long-term solution for my customers so that my work - new or repair - ages gracefully. I'm often called in to fix other peoples' work. My only other web presence is with HomeAdvisor under my company name Hudson Valley Woodworks LLC. To date, I have 71 customers that felt compelled to leave some wonderful ratings & reviews for my work. Please take a few minutes to investigate for yourself.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It starts with an inquiry phone call or text, generally followed up with a free onsite visit. This insures a more accurate assessment of what is required and cost associated. Although I strive to, I can't always promise the best price. But, I can promise the best value on long-term work done conscientiously. I want you as a repeat customer, not just a favorable rating & review.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education has been career long, starting with an apprenticeship (and eventually my own business) doing antique restoration. Then, many years performing historic preservation work on (to date) 18 National Register homes, as well as numerous other equally distinctive old buildings, commercial door work on more institutions, churches, hospitals etc. than I can recall, additions, kitchen & bathroom renovations, period porch restorations to slate roofing, and a host of things in between.
