FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is consistent with my experience, level of education, and my qualifications as NYS licensed speech-language pathologist with an understanding of voice anatomy and physiology. While my purpose will be voice teaching (habilitation) for the purposes of this consultation, I will be able to help coordinate your voice care with a voice care center should I be suspicious of vocal injury.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Consultations will be provided first to assess candidacy for voice lessons with myself. Voice lessons will be a team approach based off of the reports of the singer (you) and the expertise of the teacher (myself). At the end of the first lesson, we will assess whether the relationship would be a good fit going forward, and plan subsequent sessions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have obtained a Bachelors of Music and Masters of Music in operatic performance, as well as a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology. Moreover, I am currently In a Doctor of Speech-Language Pathology. My clinical work as a voice therapist focuses primarily on professional voice users (e.g., singers, voice over-actors, actors, newscasters, etc.). I also have a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) which means that I have experience in teaching neurodiverse individuals in New York. I have experience in voice rehabilitation and voice habilitation (lessons); my voice lessons will focus solely on habilitation of the voice. We will speak to the science and physiology of the voice to make you an informed singer, and an agent of your voicing outcomes.
