FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fee includes my professional expertise, travel time, editing time, and digital downloads of nearly all the photos from the shoot. Depending on the type of shoot and package ordered, I offer a minimum number of photos provided and a minimum number of photos retouched. All of my clients' photos are available to view on a private folder on my website and can be made available to download with a password. If you hire me for a wedding or an engagement session, I will have a second professional photographer available to assist me. Lastly, if a client hires me to photograph their wedding at my most expensive package, I offer a complimentary engagement session.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I like to find out what type of photography they are looking for. Then I want to work with a client on a location. And if they choose an outdoor location, depending on the time of the year, we can work together to decide on a location. Once the shoot is over with, I will upload proofs to my website within a few days so they can tell me which ones they would like me to retouch! Once the client is happy with the photos, it's time to share my work and ask for a review of my services.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There are about 3 or 4 photography-based websites that I check on almost a daily basis. I read these mainly to keep informed of the latest developments with Lightroom and Photoshop. I love lynda.com and youtube. Whenever I have a question about a technique i am trying to learn, I and searching for it on lynda.com. I am a paying member to the site so I can download the practice files and follow along with the instructor. The search functionality of lynda.com is exceptional and extremely useful. Youtube is good for certain things, but one area it struggles in is ability to find exactly what you are looking for. You can spend 10 minutes trying to find something and you might still have questions. I'm also apart of Camera Rochester and have been for the past 6 years. Every month, we have a critique night where we get constructive feedback for our images that we submit. I have learned so much about composition and what makes a photo exceptional by listening to seasoned professionals. I believe my own photography has grown tremendously in the past several years and my past clients have outstanding things to say about my work.
